US Youth FUTSAL CAMP
July 19-22, 2013
Sponsored by

Futsal in the United States is growing rapidly as coaches and players are discovering the technical and tactical benefits of this fast-paced indoor court game, not only for those that play soccer but also those players best suited for the Futsal game itself. Our goal with the US Youth Futsal Camp is to grow the game of Futsal at the youth level – enhancing the skills of all soccer players as well as identifying players whose talents could yield a future in the game of Futsal. We have created this highly competitive Futsal camp to foster the growth of elite Futsal players.
Why Futsal?
The game of Futsal has evolved in the last 20 years throughout the world. Youth academies in Spain, Brazil, Argentina and France continue to develop world class players. How do these countries produce top talent year after year? The answer is FUTSAL! Many of today’s most acclaimed soccer masters…Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta and Ronaldinho … give credit to Futsal as the key to their player development.
Our goal is to raise the level of Futsal in the United States by teaching players to play fundamental Futsal. Futsal is a game unto itself – albeit the skills required transfer well to the soccer field. In the US, most players who claim to play Futsal are only playing the game of soccer on a Futsal court with a Futsal ball. We are resolute in creating opportunities to educate players and coaches. We are determined to play Futsal as it is played worldwide.
The Leadership Team:
The US Youth Futsal Camp was created and staffed with former professional players, coaches and former FIFA Futsal World Cup players including
- US Youth Futsal founders and former FIFA Futsal World Cup veterans Jon Parry 1996 and Peter Vermes 1989 (USA 3rd place finish). Vermes, also a founding partner of US Youth FUTSAL, is currently the head coach of MLS SPORTING Kansas City and the Executive/Technical Director of SPORTING Blue Valley. In Spring 2013, Vermes was selected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Ty was instrumental in developing his son Lucas Stauffer, as the youngest player ever (and currently) on the US Futsal National Team. In September 2012, Parry and Stauffer traveled to A Coruna, Spain to train in a Futsal Coaching Course sponsored by Liga Nacional Futbol Sala (LNFS) and presented by the Technical Staff of Azkar Lugo. Azkar Lugo is renowned for developing Futsal players through their youth Futsal Academy.
