Academy Program Overview

Our FUTSALNH Academy Program is partnered with      for high-quality test preparation, pre-college counseling, and subject-matter tutoring. Visit the Stratus Prep website or contact the Director of Stratus Prep for more information.

The FUTSALNH Academy Program is designed to teach the game of futsal. Futsal is now a widely recognized tool for soccer development--for both field players and keepers.  It is superb for developing ball-control, foot skills, quick passing, quick reflexes, and a variety of other skills.  Our experience has been that players love it, parents love it, and coaches love it--all for different reasons. The US Soccer Development Academy is now requiring futsal to be implemented as a training component in all its youth Academy programs--so we feel that we are in good company with our program.

Our Academy is designed to complement, not compete with, a player’s club soccer training. We provide training and guidance that is tailored to players of different skill levels, and we do so in a way that is ultimately enriching and enjoyable for all of our players.  All Academy players are instructed by experienced futsal coaches and trainers. Our goal is to provide the highest quality futsal training and coaching in order to help our players enjoy the exciting game of futsal at the highest level. We intend to develop excellent futsal players, and in so doing (because the skill sets of futsal and soccer are so very nearly the same), to develop excellent soccer players.

The Academy program focuses on player development aimed at improving each player’s technical ability as well as his or her game awareness and tactical decision-making.  In addition, we place players with similar abilities in a competitive environment and offer players an opportunity to compete on elite teams at the older levels.

FUTSALNH is committed to maintaining its independence and objectivity in the formation of the Academy teams. We have no soccer club affiliation. Although we utilize the support and cooperation of soccer coaches from many neighboring soccer programs, we have a strict “no recruiting policy.” Soccer players from one club can rest assured that they will never be pressured to join other clubs in the course of playing futsal with our program.   In addition, our independence and objectivity are reflected in the fact that we provide equal opportunity to all players in our “open tryout” system, a system that employs an unbiased selection process for players both inside and outside our league alike.
