Don D’Ambra - Director

Don D’Ambra was born and raised in Philadelphia. He attended North Catholic High School, before continuing his education at St. Joseph’s University. He graduated from SJU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in food marketing. During college career, he received numerous honors including the Atlantic-10 Conference Player of the Year, Philadelphia Soccer Seven Conference Player of the Year and 1st Team Regional All-American.  He currently holds the school record for points and goals.

In 1994, D’Ambra began his professional soccer career with the Milwaukee Wave of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). After two seasons, he returned home to Philadelphia to continue his career with the Philadelphia KiXX. D’Ambra has been a member of the Philadelphia Kixx for the past 15 years and was the Head Coach/Director of Soccer Operations for 8 of those years.  During his tenure with Philadelphia Kixx he won 2 MISL Chamionships and was named the MVP of the 2007 Championship Finals.
Don D’Ambra has retired from playing professional soccer and is currently the New Head Coach of the St. Joseph’s University Men’s Soccer Program.
Futsal Experience
In 2003, D’Ambra was selected to play for the Men’s US National Futsal Team in the Gold Cup Tournament in Anaheim, Ca where he was awarded the "Golden Boot Award".  In 2004, he was a member of the US Futsal team that won the CONCACAF Tournament in Costa Rica to secure a berth to the Futsal World Championship.  In 2007, he was selected to compete in the Pan American Games as a member of the US Futsal Team in Rio De Janeiro.  In the summer of 2008, D’Ambra was a member of the Charm City Futsal team who won the Men’s National Futsal Championship at the USFF National Championships held inBaltimore, MD.

To provide an environment for players of all levels and ages to play and learn the game of futsal.  South Jersey Futsal League will do this by:

- Focusing on skill development and fun vs. winning.  
- Utilizing US Soccer certified referees who understand the spirit and art of the game.
- Matching teams of similar skill in appropriate divisions and age groups where possible



South Jersey Futsal, an affiliate of US Youth Futsal, is the only US Soccer sanctioned futsal league in Southern New Jersey.  Since its beginning in 2009, South Jersey Futsal has been one of the largest youth futsal leagues in the United States.  Last year South Jersey Futsal had 114 teams with over 1000 players participating, making it the 5th largest youth futsal league in the country.

South Jersey  Winter League features teams in every age group and gender from U8 through High School.  High-quality officiating, fair and balanced competition superior facilities and outstanding service has kept coaches, players and parents returning to play year after year.


In January of 2011, South Jersey hosted the first Atlantic Regional Futsal Tournament with 32 team participating.  The Regional is a qualifier for the National tournament.

UNITED STATES YOUTH FUTSAL is the only national futsal organization affiliated with US Soccer. With over 40 leagues throughout the country, 5 Regional tournaments and a National Championship, it is the fastest growing futsal organization in the U.S.

US SOCCER – Is the governing body of all soccer in the United States. Its mission is to make soccer, in all its forms, a preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the development of soccer at all recreational and competitive levels.

USSSA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop and expand the game of soccer in the United States. USSSA has been an affiliate of US Soccer since July, 2001.  USSSA registers, sanction and provides insurance for leagues, clubs, academies and players.
