Mid Michigan Futsal

MISSION OF MID MICHIGAN FUTSAL
To provide an environment for players of all levels and ages to play and learn the game of futsal. MID MICHIGAN FUTSAL will do this by:

- Focusing on skill development and fun vs. winning.
- Utilizing US Soccer certified referees who understand the spirit and art of the game.
- Matching teams of similar skill in appropriate divisions and age groups where possible

HISTORY OF MID MICHIGAN FUTSAL

MID MICHIGAN FUTSAL (MMF) is a futsal league serving the Midland-Saginaw-Bay City areas that will begin league play in January 2015. The league will be run and managed by Toni Etiene and Robert Smith.

Toni has an extensive soccer resume, and has called Midland, Michigan home for 20 years. She has played and coached at the Division I & II Collegiate level, and has been extensively involved in soccer in the Tri-Cities area for 16 years. Toni has developed a fire and passion for futsal and its merits for player developement, and has teammed up with Robert to establish a league in the area.

Robert has been involved with soccer for over 30 years in Southeast Michigan, having grown up playing in Metro Detroit, and having played Division I Collegiate soccer at Eastern Michigan University. He is currently in his 7th year of operations of East Michigan Futsal, one of the largest futsal leagues in the country. Toni and Robert have teammed up to bring the same quality futsal experience to the Tri-Cities area, that teams and clubs are experiencing in Southeast Michigan.

MMF will offer league divisions for every age from U8 to Adults, boys and girls, men and women. For 2015 and beyond, MMF matches will be played at Saginaw Valley State University, until and including such a time that expansion is necessary in accordance with the East Michigan Futsal model. MMF is sanctioned by USYF and affiliated with U.S. Soccer. MMF will use only U.S. Soccer Futsal Certified referees, and the proper surfaces, dimensions and Laws of the Game specified by FIFA.

UNITED STATES YOUTH FUTSAL is the largest national futsal organization affiliated with US Soccer. With over 100 leagues throughout the country,10 Regional tournaments and a National Championship, it is the fastest growing futsal organization in the U.S.

US SOCCER – Is the governing body of all soccer in the United States. Its mission is to make soccer, in all its forms, a preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the development of soccer at all recreational and competitive levels.

USSSA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop and expand the game of soccer in the United States. USSSA has been an affiliate of US Soccer since July, 2001. USSSA registers, sanction and provides insurance for leagues, clubs, academies and players.
